Lee's agent and the Cubs brass has promised to talk during Spring Training. This has interesting fantasy implications. If Lee and the Cubs cannot agree, this means Lee has all of the incentive to match, if not better, his statistics from last year to get the big bucks. Says Lee: Lee said he wouldn't necessarily be seeking the biggest contract. "If it's a deal I feel is fair for me, I would sign it. It's still a business. I always look at it as if there is a deal that makes me happy now, why not sign it? He hit .300 (.335) for the first time in his career, his OBP was over .400 (.418) for the first time in his career, and his SLG was over .600 (.662) for the first time in his career. It would probably be wise for the Cubs to sign him to a four-five year contract now, as if they wait til the end of this season, his market price just might get a little higher. After A-rod and Pujols, he's right there for the next pick.
