I actually feel bad for Rich Harden. He's going to the Cubs, who don't have the best track record when it comes to young arms (please see Wood, Kerry and Prior, Mark filed under: could have been great, if they weren't with the Cubs). The key to this deal, for the Cubs anyway, will be Gaudin. He can pitch out of the bullpen and start, and do both well. According to PlayerTrack (some site this guy put up, it's okay if you like that sort of thing), Chad Gaudin is the 43rd ranked pitcher. 54.2 IP, 21 ER, 5 W, 3 L, 0 SV, 2 HOLDS, 54 H, 13 BB, 5 HR, 40 SO, 3.46 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 6.58 K/9, .263 BABIP Not too shabby as a throw in.
