With help from Willie Mays and his dad, Griffey ultimately went with the heartstrings and not the strings that would make it more likely he would sing a swan song in the playoffs.

I was really hoping Griffey would go to the Braves. I guess the Braves can now focus their sites on Garrett Anderson. Hopefully they can get him.

What happens to the Braves' OF if they do this? It looks like it is time for Josh Anderson, and Francouer should stay put. Put Garrett in LF in place of Diaz?

They were going to do that with Griffey. I believe Griffey & Diaz were going to split time. I think the Braves could have used Griffey or maybe even Garret Anderson. I guess we can't forget about the other kid they have to, Brandon Jones. I think they need 4 out fielders who could start at anytime in case of injury or if one goes in a slump.

My vote for the best non-juiced up player during the Steroid Era is Griffey Jr. He's a classy guy on and off the field.

He's kind of a prick off the field, but whatever.

Why do you say this? I haven't heard much in this regard about him... he always sounded pretty stand-up, for the most part.

It looks like Garret Anderson is going to be a Brave, pending his physical. Reports say 1 year for 2.5 million.
