I hate the Yankees! I hate them more than you could possibly imagine. No, I'm not a Red Sox fan. If I told everyone here how much I hate the Yankees, this would be one long ass message. I just hope that they are one day contracted from baseball for good. I know this will never happen, but one can dream. Right?

On second thought, let me get into it just incase you don't know who I am on this message board. When George Stienbrenner dies, I want to urinate & possibly even take a big fat dump on his grave. I feel like I am a very patriotic person towards my country, but if the Taliban had a baseball team & they played the New York Yankees, I would pull for the Taliban baseball team. No, I'm not a terrorist. I just mean if it were a baseball game. The media glorifies the Yankees like they are God's gift to baseball. What have they done that is so special? Anyone could win if they had the Yankees money & spending power, which is why there needs to be a salary cap in baseball, but that is another subject. I can't stand the Yankee arrogance. The only reason they get more coverage than any other baseball team, or sports team for that matter is because they are in the biggest market so the media always has their nose up the Yankees' ass. Every major league team should have as much coverage as the Yankees. If the media has it there way, the Yankees will always be on top because they just don't get it! Why don't teams like the Royals or Tigers, or Padres get as much attention as the Yankees? It's a trickle down effect. First, they are not big market teams. If they are not a big market team, they get very little press coverage. If they get very little press coverage, no one knows who they are. If you don't know who they are, no one is going to really care. If no one really cares & they are not recognized, no one will buy their product, thus keeping them small market. There are a bunch of naive bandwagon Yankees fans out there who are deceived by the main stream media. The main stream media makes the Yankees look very GQ, very sexy. Sex sales. Charisma sales. It's mainly the media's fault. What would happen if the media quit giving the Yankees so much attention & started pumping the Royals up the butt over a period of time. Let's say 10 years. If the media somehow made the Royals look like a sexy team or a popular team & completely shut off the Yankees, maybe the Royals' stature in major league baseball society would rise. Maybe people would go out & buy Royals merchandise & maybe it would lead them out of the small market hell hole that exist today only for the big market team's amusement. The small market teams are all just Yankees farm systems aren't they? Stienbrenner just goes to the grocery store when he seeks out the free agency market with what seems to be his bottomless checking account. The Yankees will never be special for any reason in my eyes. It's not hard to be a dynasty when you have endless spending power. When they win World Series titles, they aren't really doing anything special or great. When you have twice as much, if not more than twice as much money as the next richest team to them, they are not accomplishing anything great when they win championships because they are supposed to with all the luxuries & riches they have. In fact, they are nothing but failures if they don't atleast get to the World Series every year given today's baseball economics & salary structure. The media will unfortunately never turn their attention & coverage from the Yankees because to them unfortunately, that would be TV ratings suicide & that is unfortunate. Have I said the word unfortunate enough? Think about it, New York is the biggest market(which really really sucks). This is because a shitload of people live in New York City & the surrounding areas. ESPN for instance, is going to cater to the largest market because they want the ratings & the TV viewers to watch Sportscenter, especially in the big market areas like New York City. It's a monopoly & they monopolize on each other. This leads to great revenue generated for the Yankees because the average person sees the Yankees this & the Yankees that on Sportscenter so they hop on that Yankee bandwagon. They get very familiarized with the New York Yankees. All this does is continue to feed the monster, therefore the Yankees will always generate a great deal of money because of the stupid ass media who generates the interest in them. It's a never ending cycle! I can't f@#king stand it! The Yankees will always have a big unfair advantage. A salary cap in baseball would help the situation somewhat. The Yankees can go to hell as far as I'm concerned! The media is a big part of the Yankees success if you sit down & really think about it. I can't stand the media either! What about the Devil Rays? What about the Royals? What about the Tigers? What about the Padres? There needs to be more equal time & attention to all of the other teams in baseball by the media. There needs to be more of a level playing field. There needs to be ways to effectively promote & market all of the other major league teams instead of just hearing about the damn Yankees all of the damn God for saken time! This is what's wrong with baseball, although I still love the game.

Well, I don't get Rub's hatred of Arod (other than the uniform).

It is hard to argue with greatness (Rub has been in the World Series in our baseballmanager league for two years straight and won last year), but this call is worse than his call that Barry Bonds was going to have an off year last year.

Arod continues to be one of the best in the game... especially for fantasy purposes.

I just want to clarify that I don't hate A Rod in a violent way. I would not wish any harm to him or any Yankee player or anyone for that matter. I think you must atleast consider my hate towards the Yankees in a different way. I think we have all had players or sports teams we have pulled against during our lifetime. I just love to pull against the Yankees, Stienbrenner & their players. It doesn't mean that I disrespect them or hate them in a violent manner. I think you get the impression that I make these predictions & accusations & assumptions about the Yankees just because I hate them & that there is no creedence or real importance or evidence behind what I am saying. To this I say, you are probably right. My comments about the Yankees are more about rebellion than anything else.

Hey, new user here.

Loved the Taliban comment. My sentiments are very similiar.

I hate ARod as well because:

#1 - Plays for the Yankees
#2 - Brags about his workout routines.
#3 - Picked a fight with Varitek [You can read his lips "Fuck You (3 times) and "Bring it on".
#4 - He is a dirty cheater. Examples : The Slap, and his getting in between the baseball's path on a throw to 1st base [to double off Sheffield] during a game vs Detroit.

Nice to have you here JCacho! I'm glad there is atleast one or two other people on Baseballgeeks who despise the Yankees. I can relate to you about ARod as well. I just don't like the damn guy. I really don't like anybody associated with the Yankees, past or present. I can't help it. The downright hatred for the Yankees & anything associated with them is just in my blood. In some ways, the Yankees are what is WRONG with baseball. They are NOT "American as apple pie" in my book! They are the ANTICHRIST!

My sentiments exactly, regarding the team from the Bay Area with the Halloween costumes. I don't really despise or hate the Yankees and I honor much of its great history from Gehrig & Ruth to Mantle & Maris. I just despise George Steinbrenner's sleazy tactics, which have tainted the Yankees proud tradition. Baseball will be much better off once 'Ol Georgie sells the Yanks. By then, maybe baseball will institute a salary cap and put Kansas City and Cincinnati on an even playing field once again.

Let me get this over with first. I did not read your big long message. However i did read about how u want to urinate on steinbrenners grave.

The guy may be a jerk, and it may be so that everyone hates him, including myself. Although, the guy gets the job done. You have to admit it.

He gets it done. I'll give him that. However, what if he was trying to cherry pick free agents from other teams with Royals or Devil Rays money & not Yankees money? If he had to run a small market team with little revenue, would he be getting it done then?

Mr drrubb

Yea it’s tough To Be a Yankee Fan
You forgot to mention
All our tiles we won over the years.

2000
NY Yankees 4, NY Mets 1
In the first Subway Series since 1956, the Yankees pounded on the happless Mets from the first pitch of the series. Despite posting an 87-74 record in the regular season, the Yankees went 11-5 in this post-season, and won their 26th World Championship.

1999
NY Yankees 4, Atlanta Braves 0

By winning their 25th championship in sweeping fashion against the team with the best record in the 90's, the Yankees unanimously claimed the title of "best team of the century."

1998
NY Yankees 4, San Diego Padres 0

After winning an AL-best 114 wins, the Yankees finished the season in fitting style as they swept the unlucky Padres to win their 24th championship. Let's be honest: the Padres did not stand a chance against the Yankee Machine.

1996
NY Yankees 4, Atlanta Braves 2

In their first world Series appearance in 15 years, the Yankees faced the much-touted Atlanta pitching. After winning the first two games, Atlanta appeared to be gearing up for it's second consecutive championship, until that Yankees magic did its work. The Yankees won the next four games, and their 23rd championship.

1978
NY Yankees 4, Los Angeles Dodgers 2

The Yankees became the first team to sweep four games in a World Series after losing the first two to win their 22nd championship.

1977
NY Yankees 4, Los Angeles Dodgers 2

The Yankees won their 21st championship, their first one since 1962, thanks to the immortal Mr. October, Reggie Jackson.

1962
NY Yankees 4, San Francisco Giants 3,

Willie Mays vs. Mickey Mantle didn't pan out, but the Yankees ddin't disappoint as they won in dramatic fashion to claim their 20th championship.

1961
NY Yankees 4, Cincinnati Reds 1

After their record-breaking homerun season, the M&M boys only connected for one homer ni this series - but they brought home the Yankees 19th championship.

1958
NY Yankees 4, Milwaukee Braves 3

They Yankees rallied from a three-games-to-one deficit - becomming the first team in 33 years to do so - to take home their 18th championship.

1956
NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 3

Oct. 8, 1956, Don Larsen becomes the only pitcher to pitch a perfect game in the world series. The much-heralded Subway Series ended in fantastic fashion, and the Yankees brought home their 17th championship.

1953
NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 2

The Yankees win their record fifth straight world title by beating the "Boys of Summer," as the Yankees brought home their 16th championship. Five stright world titles. Wow, what a great time to be a Yankees fan, huh?

1952 NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 3

Mickey Mantle hit the first two of his record 18 World Series home runs, ans the Yankees went on to win their 15th championship.

1951
NY Yankees 4, NY Giants 2

The Giants took a 2-1 lead in this series before the Yankees bats came alive, and won the next three games to take home their 14th championship.

1950
NY Yankees 4, Philadelphia Phillies 0

The Phillies became the Yankees' sixth sweep victim in 24 years, who claimed their 13th championship.

1949
NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 1

The Yankees won their 12th championship under first-year manager Casey Stengel. But, with the best team to ever grace a baseball field, Atilla the Hun could've managed this dynasty.

1947
NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 3

While Jackie Robinson made history in 1947, the Yankees stole the spotlight by winning their 11th championship in seven games.

1943
NY Yankees 2, St. Louis Cardinals 1

While each team was missing several key players, due to the war, the Yankees superb pitching helped them to win their 10th championship.

1941
NY Yankees 4, Brooklyn Dodgers 1

In the first of seven subway Series between the two teams, the Joe Dimagio-led Yankees beat the "Bums from Brooklyn" in five games to capture their 9th championship.

1939
NY Yankees 4, Cincinnati Reds 0

The Yankees win their fourth consecutive championship with their second sweep in a row, to claim their 8th championship.

1938
NY Yankees 4, Chicago Cubs 0

With the first-ever series threepeat, the Yankees swept the lowly Cubs to claim their 7th championship.

1937
NY Yankees 4, NY Giants 1

Lefty Gomez won two games for the Yankees as they claim their 6th championship.

1936
NY Yankees 4, NY Giants 2

The first Subway Series in 13 years features the .346-hitting rookie Joe Dimagio, as well as two home runs by the Iron Horse, Lou Gehrig. The Yankees claimed their 5th championship.

1932
NY Yankees 4, Chicago Cubs 0

While Lou Gehrig hit an amazing .529 in the series, and scored almost one quarter of the Yankees runs, this series is best remebered for Babe Ruths famed "called shot," which people still emulate today. The Yankees took home their 4th championship.

1928
NY Yankees 4, St. Louis Cardinals 0

The Yankees outscored the Cardinals 27-10, giving them back-to-back sweeps in the series and their 3rd championship.

1927
NY Yankees 4, Pittsburgh Pirates 0

The Yankees' "Murderers Row" annihilated the Pirates on their way to a sweep and their 2nd championship.

1923
NY Yankees 4, NY Giants 2

The first NY Subway Series, and the first series played in the House That Ruth Built, was fittingly dominated by the Bambino. Ruth had three home runs, and a .368 batting average during the series. This was the Yankees 1st championship that gave birth to the "best team of the century."

No one can argue the Yankees' history. They are clearly the most dominant baseball franchise ever. But what pisses me off is that MLB will never allow the Yankees to be bad or stay down. The media loves the Yankees. They got their nose so far up the Yankees butt! A lot of the media types are Yankee homers as well. The way baseball is set up with the media, & the salary structure, & exposure, the Yankees will always dominate.

ESPN & FOX always have the Yankees on in primetime or their premier spots. I'm tired of it quiet honestly. That's all we ever see or hear about. Yankees, Yankees, Yankees! Yankees this! Yankees that! Jeter this! Jeter that! ARod this! Arod that! This is what is wrong with baseball! We never hear about the other teams all that much unless you are in a big market city or area. The promotion of the smaller market teams has to happen if the smaller market teams are to rise in stature & the media is clearly to blame for this. The media controls most everything. They slant things the way they want to slant them & that leaves a lasting image or impression among most of your casual, average, naive, fans/people. This is what the media wants. They want to continue to feed the monster. Again, this is what is wrong with baseball.

If the media ignores the smaller markets, how are they ever going to compete? Your average person in today's world is a bandwagon fan. A follower, not a leader. If all they ever hear about is the damn Yankees, there going to like the Yankees. They are naive! You can't fool me. I'll never give in to the media's ass kissing of the Yankees & other big market teams! The New York's, Boston's, Chicago's, & LA's of baseball & the sport's nation need to be brought back down to earth somewhat & less talked about & less promoted. The smaller market teams need to be pushed & promoted more so we can move to achieve more competitive & financial balance, more parity. The media will never allow this to happen. That is the problem.

If the Yankees had never ever existed in New York, they would never have had all those World Series titles. What if they had always been the Kansas City Yankees? What if the Royals had always been the New York Royals? It would be the Royals who had all that history & championships & great players throughout their franchise history. And it would have been because they just played in the biggest market that grabs all the attention & has the red carpet rolled out for them. You can't tell me or convince me that the Yankees could have won all those World Series titles if they didn't play in New York. And don't start trying to compare the Yankees with other New York teams in professional sports because the other 3 major sports have salary caps & the economic structure is set up a lot differently in the other 3 major sports. The Yankees play in the largest market. They have all of the media backing. There is no salary cap in baseball. That's why they will always monopolize baseball, because everything is handed to them on a silver platter. Of course they are going to dominate! How can they not? If they don't win the World Series every year, or atleast get there, they should be considered failures with all of the luxuries they are afforded. I hate them! I hate the media as well because they can't see the forest for the trees. They don't even want to try & address or fix the problem & they probably never will. They are the driving force behind much of the Yankees success because they are in the largest market. You might say that the main stream media is just aiding & abetting the Yankees franchise & continued rich history. They are like the Yankees alies. They might as well be employed by the Yankees!
