With A-Rod in their lineup, the U.S. should have the edge over the Dominican Republic. I still don't understand why he considered playing for the Dominican. Though, for some reason, A-Rod received quite a big backlash over that controversy, while very little has been said about Mike Piazza playing for Italy. The media is setting a very bad example here.

Don't get me started on the media. They are very biased & have always been very biased towards the Yankees & there star players & will continue to be. If the media had it there way, they would wipe Jeter & A Rod's ass every time they took a shit. I can't stand them! The Yankees & the media that is.

As much as I like Piazza, I think that this is probably more of a statement as to how poorly people think of Piazza nowadays. If we were talking, say, 1996 Piazza, I think that there would be some backlash against him.
