This would be very cool... to see Griffey end his career with the Mariners and Glavine to end with the Braves. I hope it happens...

I have to agree Rob! That would be very cool! Not only that, these are 2 class act players who were & still are great ambassadors of baseball. I also bet both of these guys stayed clean in doing so.

When we were talking BEFORE the latest podcast, Gregg put a lot of focus on the fact that Griffey was clean throughout his career. Of course, remember that Gregg is a big Reds' fan.

I responded: look at the change in his body.

It would be nice to think that some of our favorite sluggers got by without the help of performance enhancement. Unfortunately, I tend to think that the substantial majority (including Griff) did SOMETHING.

Maybe your right Rob. I would hope not. What do you think about Fred McGriff's chances at the Hall of Fame? He was one of my all time favorite players. I personally think(biased aside) that he should be in. He hit 493 career home runs & there are several hall of famers who never even came close to hitting that many. I also think Fred did it cleanly because his body never changed. He also never had a dramtic spike or drop off in home runs during his prime, which was about a 10, 11, or 12 year stretch. His numbers did drop pretty dramatically his last couple of seasons before he retired. I think he ranks in the the top 30 or 40 in most of the all time hitting statistical categories.
