If we are talking solely on the rest of the year I would take Westbrook. From 04-06 he averaged 14 wins per season and this year he looks like he is on that same pace. He would've had a win yesterday but some bloke by the name of Borowski came in and couldn't see the deal. Westbrook is available in many league formats and is a nice pitcher for those of you who love to stream.

Cheap wins? Definitely.

Killer of every other category? Yup.

Look at the last three years... that is one helluva burden to put on your other categories.

I'm not a big fan, and I wouldn't recommend him, personally.

Jake Westbrook has made 4 starts and has 4 quality starts. That is very nice.

By the way, you guys better jump on the Ervin Santana bandwagon. I will bet that this guy will have the best season of any ANahem pitcher including Lackey when he comes back.

Scott Olsen of the Florida Marlins is off to a 3-0 start. Keep an eye on him.

The only E. Santana bandwagon to jump on is when he pitches at home. Otherwise, keep him STASHED away.

Olsen is a guy that I touted highly last year... if memory serves, I think I even drafted him in my money league... but he was gone fast.

The Marlins hot start is fun to watch, but I suspect it will be coming to an end soon... as will Olsen's hot start. He could surprise... but I wouldn't gamble on it.

That was the book on him coming into the year, but he has legitimately pitched well at home or away. Kinda working on old info there rob.

Hey Rob look at the splits this year. He is pitching better on the road. No ALOT better on the road. This will be his breakout year. Not last year.

Do you know what I love most about you guys? Your optimism.

Santana has had TWO away starts where he has allowed FIVE earned in THIRTEEN innings. This is a 3.46 ERA. Certainly much better than last season after TWO away starts.

One of those away teams was Minnesota (.257 team BA, 9 HR through 19 games, 10/14 in BA) and the Texas Rangers (.260, 19 HRs, 6/14 in BA).

The Texas game was indeed impressive because after Ervin allowed a 3 run HR to Blalock in the FIRST INNING, he settled down.

But, let's be honest.

Is this enough sampling for us to determine that the home-away split issue with Ervin Santana is done?

I don't think so.

I have two numbers for you rob.

5 and 2

5 is the number of quality starts santana had all of last year, 2 represents the number he has so far. Not sayin hes turned the corner, but its look good so far.
