Well, the MLB season is just about a month old and I would have to grade myself fantasy season as a solid B thusfar. BaseballGeeks BBM League (10 Teams) I am 3-5 in the young season. Not bad, considering I had to retool my bullpen on the fly. Here is a lowdown on my roster: C - S: Posada BU: Kendall 1B - S: Overbay BU: Morneau 2B - S: Kent BU: Barfield 3B - Platoon: Glaus & Rolen SS - Platoon: Renterria & Hardy OF - S: Manny, Crawford & Jenkins BU: Winn & Pierre Rotation: Peavy, Maddux, Myers, Hudson & Maroth BU: Haren Bullpen: Lidge, Gordon, C-Cordero, McCarthy, Cassidy & Villarreal Strengths - I think my pitching is solid at this point. Weaknesses - Hitting ... 2B may be... |
As I am wrinting this, I am holding onto a slim 16 point lead in my GDR Week #1 matchup … which will be bigger as soon as Bonderman’s good outing is figured in (31 points!). On Friday a friend of mine emailed me about a last minute opening in his 10 Team 5x5 Classic Roto league. I really didn’t want to do a 3rd league this season, but the fact that the other two are not Roto-Style leagues and that I was amped up for Opening Day … I said yes. The draft was Saturday afternoon, so I had about 24 hours to prepare. My strategy going in was to not draft any pitchers until Round 5 at the earliest.... |

Glad I was able to get one of Ichiro, Manny & M-Cabrera. The NoTrade clause is supposed to bump up tyour offer 30% … my final offer to Manny was $15.0/3Y … he signed for $12.5/3Y (NT). I came up a mllion short on Cabrera ($12 to $11). I also found out that I lost out to Beltran by not offering a NoTrade clause. Had same identical offer, but the other...

Well, my GameDayRitual FAB starts tomorrow at 1:00pm EST. The FAB (Free Agent Blitz) is basically an auction drawn out over 6 days. Starting tomorrow at 1:00pm, Team #1 will put a player out there to start the bidding, followed by Team #2 ten minutes later and Team #3 ten minutes after that … this process goes on until all 12 GMs have put 5 players up for auction (60 players per day). A player stays on the market for 24 hours after being put up for auction. The creators of GDR claim that you do not have to be at your computer for the entire process … but everything I have read says that you will become &bold-very-bold&... The idea of using this blog as a sort of running diary of my 2006 fantasy baseball season came to me when Rob & Greg were discussing the free blogs offered on www.baseballgeeks.com during one of their podcasts. I knew that I was going to do a Game Day Ritual league and it looks like I will be doing a Baseball Manager league with the Reedster, as well. That puts me in two leagues. Just right if you ask me. During the football season, I am committed to three leagues that have been going on for 10+ years each. I don’t exactly like being in three leagues, but it is three different groups of friends that... Last comment by: Green Caesar @ 3/6/06, 12:56pm |

Hey everyone, www.gamedayritual.com finally opened up for the 2006 season! What is GameDayRitual? I'm not sure, but it sounds promising. This will be their second season. I saw it advertised on a fantasy baseball site last season an it piqued my interest, but I decided to not do it (joined a work league instead) There is no draft or auction for GDR ... they use a unique Free Agent Blitz process that I hear is frighteningly addictive. I could try to explain it but it would be better just to read it here: www.gamedayritual.com/baseball/help/manual.htm I am going to use this blog to share the highs and lows that I am sure to experience in GDR and BaseballManager in 2006 (The Reedster... I have listened to all of the 2006 podcats thus far and have enjoyed them thoroughly! Was wondering if any of you geeks have heard of GamedayRitual.com? It is basically fantasy baseball on steroids. I am thinking of trying it out this year. Last comment by: Green Caesar @ 2/26/06, 8:55am |
